Calatorao is a distinctive, fine-grained limestone which has been hew from the world-famous quarries of Zaragoza, Spain, for over 2000 years. An ancient stone with a rich history of use across the Iberian Peninsula, from Baroque churches and town square cobbling to highly-polished flooring and interior walls, Neolith has faithfully captured Calatarao’s lustrous golden veining and intensely dark grey colour which characterises the stone. It was a favourite stone of the celebrated Spanish sculptor Juan de Ávalos, who used it extensively throughout his distinguished career. Calatorao has a timeless appeal, adding a touch of Aragonese finesse to any commercial or residential space.
Neolith is impermeable, highly resistant to stains, scratches, bending and Ultra-Violet rays. It is also easy to clean and hygienic.
Sheet Thicknesses Available: 12mm / 20mm
Sensitive Colour: No
Neolith is an Ultra Compact surface that uses Sintering Technology, giving Neolith physical and mechanical features which are unprecedented in the construction industry. Neolith possess many extraordinary properties, such as: it’s high resistance to heat, scratches, stains and Ultra Violet rays. Having zero porosity, Neolith is impermeable, which makes it easy to clean and hygienic.
Neolith worktop joints are finished with a small ariss to the top edge. Silicone sealant is applied to prevent water ingression.
Heavily Veined / Particulated Colours
These colours are highly unlikely to have contineous flow of the pattern when 2 sheets or 2 pieces of the same sheet are seamed together. The change of pattern will show up on the seam area
Due to thermal expansion Neolith can expand up to 1mm per metre.
Overhangs and supports
Any overhang extending more than 300mm must be supported.
Upstands less than 100mm high are extremely fragile and are not recommended.
Upstands are not normally cut from the same slab as the worksurfaces and therefore an exact colour match is not possible.
Extra labour will be required on any worktops over 120kg. This will be supplied at no cost to worktops.net
Neolith is highly scratch resistant but not scratch proof.
Neolith worktops are incredibly hard and non-porous and will not absorb liquids, but it is still possible that grease, wine, coffee, nicotine, fruit juices and other strongly coloured substances can stain the surface if not properly protected or if the spills are not cleaned up immediately. Care and Maintenance kits are available from Worktops.net
Neolith worktops are naturally hygienic as it is non-porous
Neolith is highly resistant to ultra violet (UV) light and will not fade or degrade over time making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor applications
Neolith is one of the most durable worktops, with over 5 times the flexural strength of granite, Neolith has a high level of resistance to external aggressions
Neolith is heat resistant, so no need to worry about those hot pots and pans when you are cooking
Bacteria and mould have nowhere to take root. When it looks clean, it really is clean
Easy to Clean
With a non-porous surface that prevents dirt and stains from penetrating the material. Most marks and stains stay on the surface and can easily be removed
