What is Dekton?
Dekton is an Ultra Compact surface that consists of a sophisticated blend of the raw materials used to produce the very latest in glass and porcelain as well as the highest quality quartz work surfaces. Through an exclusive technological process Dekton emulates in a few hours what it takes nature thousands of years, producing stunning results.
UV Resistant
Dekton is highly resistant to ultra violet (UV) light and will not fade or degrade over time making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor applications
Durable
Dekton is one of the most durable worktops, with over 5 times the flexural strength of granite, Dekton has a high level of resistance to external aggression’s
Heat Resistant
Dekton is heat resistant, so no need to worry about those hot pots and pans when you are cooking
Non-Porous
Bacteria and mould have nowhere to take root. When it looks clean, it really is clean
Easy to Clean
With a non-porous surface that prevents dirt and stains from penetrating the material. Most marks and stains stay on the surface and can easily be removed
Surface Textures
Polished / XGloss
The traditional finish for Dekton is polished/gloss. The surface intensifies its colours and shine.
Smooth Matt
The smooth matte texture feel is unique thanks to the beauty and elegance it transmits.
Textured
Dekton is available is several textured finishes. Including Leather, Slate, Wood & Concrete
Dekton Colours
Technical & Design Information
Joints
Dekton worktop joints are finished with a small ariss to the top edge. Silicone sealant is applied to prevent water ingression.
Heavily Veined / Particulated Colours
These colours are highly unlikely to have contineous flow of the pattern when 2 sheets or 2 pieces of the same sheet are seamed together. The change of pattern will show up on the seam area
Thermal expansion
Due to thermal expansion Dekton can expand up to 1mm per metre.
Overhangs and supports
Any overhang extending more than 300mm must be supported.
Upstands
Upstands less than 100mm high are extremely fragile and are not recommended.
Upstands are not normally cut from the same slab as the worksurfaces and therefore an exact colour match is not possible.
Scratches
Dekton is highly scratch resistant but not scratch proof.
Staining
Dekton worktops are incredibly hard and non-porous and will not absorb liquids, but it is still possible that grease, wine, coffee, nicotine, fruit juices and other strongly coloured substances can stain the surface if not properly protected or if the spills are not cleaned up immediately. Hygienic
Dekton worktops are naturally hygienic as they are non-porous
Handling
For installation of worktops weighing above 120kg, you will need to supply additional labour at no cost to Worktops.net, every additional 75kg requires an extra person to assist with lifting.
