* Colours marked with an *asterisk are not recommended for applications where the surface is exposed to heavy use and contact. Saturated and dark colours will show scratches, dust and other wear and tear more visibly than less saturated or lighter colours.

Joints
Worktops are shaped using specialist equipment and joined to give a seamless appearance, with inconspicuous joints

Heavily Veined / Particulated Colours
These colours are highly unlikely to have contineous flow of the pattern when 2 sheets or 2 pieces of the same sheet are seamed together. The change of pattern will show up on the seam area

Thermal Expansion
Due to thermal expansion solid surfaces can expand up to 1mm per meter

Overhangs & Support
Any overhang extending more than 300mm should be supported and carcasses should be 600mm spacing

Scratches
Solid Surface worktops are not scratch proof, the use of chopping boards is recommended. Dark, heavily pigmented colours will show scratches, wear and tear more easily. However these can be sanded out if required by ordering a remedial visit from worktops.net

Repairable
Solid Surfaces can be repaired if damaged or scratched. This service can be ordered from worktops.net

Hygienic
Solid Surface worktops is naturally hygienic as it is non-porous and the seamless joints do not harbour germs

Scratches
Solid surface worktops are highly scratch resistant but not scratch proof and the surface must be protected by chopping or cutting boards. Dark colours will show scratches.

Staining
Solid surface worktops are incredibly hard and non-porous and will not absorb liquids, but it is still possible that grease, wine, coffee, nicotine, fruit juices and other strongly coloured substances can stain the surface if not properly protected or if the spills are not cleaned up immediately. Care and Maintenance kits are available from Worktops.net

Hygienic
Solid surface worktops is naturally hygienic as it is non-porous

Handling
For installation of worktops weighing above 120kg, you will need to supply additional labour at no cost to Worktops.net, every additional 75kg requires an extra person to assist with lifting.
