Solid Surface, A Wise Choice In The Modern Era.
Solid surface worktops can be a brilliant alternative to other, more traditional materials such as stone or wood. There are many advantages to choosing one of our solid surface worktops, not to mention the choices that are available to you. We offer our customers a range of different solid worktops, which means you can find the one that is best suited for you.
Read on to find out more information about the material, and if you would like more information or advice, do not hesitate to contact us, and we will be more than happy to assist you in every way we can.
Strength
Solid Surface worktops are incredibly tough and strong. They are manufactured from at least sixty six percent natural mineral, which has been blended with polymer resins to make them even stronger and more resilient than the natural stone from which they are produced. The resin makes the worktops incredibly strong and durable, which is ideal when you think of what your kitchen will have to go through.
Non-Porous
Solid surface worktops are completely non-porous, which is a very useful quality to have in a kitchen worktop. This results in two key advantages for solid surfaces: firstly, they are easy to maintain; secondly, they are hygienic. Non-porous surfaces have the added advantage of being resistant to bacteria, mould and germs, as they have no way to enter the material. Very useful for a kitchen that may see a lot of traffic or for those living busy lives..
Daily maintenance requires nothing less than a wipe down with a cloth or a sponge. Spillages can be easily wiped away, without leaving a stain or soaking into the material. Near zero-porosity means that maintenance demands of solid surfaces are very low indeed, keeping it looking like new has never been easier.
Seamless Joins
As solid surfaces are a man-made material, it is possible to create a perfectly seamless worktop that will be unique to your kitchen. Not only will seamless joins help the worktop look excellent, but having no seams will also make it a lot more hygienic than other materials that will have joins, as liquids and food stuffs have nowhere to collect.
Maintains Colour
The colours and textures of solid surfaces run through the entire thickness of the material and cannot wear away nor delaminate.
These counters are completely serviceable. The whole worktop is the same colour, so should it need to be sanded down at all due to a mishap, you will still have the same colour you started with. Some colours are stable under Ultra Violet light, and will not lose their colour when applied in rooms that get a lot of light or used outdoors.
Wide Range Of Colours
At Worktops, we appreciate that everyone has different tastes, which is why we are very pleased to offer a wide range of different coloured solid surfaces. This means that we have more scope to create the perfect worktop for you.
Whether you prefer more classic and natural colours, or you are looking for something to make a statement or inspire a certain atmosphere, we will find you the perfect colour in our solid surface range.
Lasts A Lifetime
If your worktop is properly maintained, it really can last a lifetime. As has previously been mentioned, solid surfaces require minimal maintenance. The colour of solid surfaces runs through the whole of the material – it is not going to affect the finish if you have to sand the top layer to remove any scratches or dents. The surface would merely require buffing afterwards, and it will look as good as new.
Easy to Customise
One of the joys of solid surface worktops is that they can be completely personalised to your kitchen. Corian, Hanex, Hi-Macs, or our very own Ecotop, are all equally pliable materials to work with – they can be cut, shaped and formed to an individual’s specific needs.
This enables a wide degree of freedom when designing a bespoke kitchen and ultimately, fitting a kitchen that meets both your practical and aesthetic requirements.
