Hanex® is the registered international brand name for a premium range of acrylic solid surface material, with a long term track record since 1995, composed of about 66% natural minerals, blended with 34% acrylic polymer resins.
Hanex worktops have the same luxurious appearance as granite and marble, but because of its unique reconstitution, has even greater strength, flexibility, elasticity, resilience and durability than any natural stone.

What is a Hanex worktop made from?

A high percentage natural stone, known as Alumina Trihydrate, is pulverised and blended with acrylic polymer resins in a special high-tech process, using heat and pressure in a vacuum, to create a solid slab, stronger and more resilient than the natural stone from which it is made.

How does an Hanex worktop differ from a Natural Stone worktop?

Hanex is an improvement on the natural stone from which it is manufactured. All the fissures, cracks and pores found in natural stone are eliminated, to make Hanex a truly solid, impermeable surface with the highest level of hygiene and stain resistance.

Whereas solid stone slabs are dependent on what is quarried from nature in terms of colour, size and appearance, Hanex worktops are created in a large range of colours and textures, with far greater colour consistency, even across different slabs, and can be manufactured in constant sizes and thickness, making it possible to be fitted in larger sizes and with the minimum number of joints.

Natural stone cannot be shaped or formed and joints cannot be “welded” to form the seamless appearance possible with Hanex. Because of the acrylic added to the natural stone, Hanex can be bent, moulded, shaped, and thermoformed into three-dimensional shapes for virtually unlimited design possibilities and accessories.

The manufacturing process makes Hanex worktops much more resistant to scratches and stains than natural stone and they are also easier to clean and maintain. Another major benefit is that damage can be repaired. Minor damage can be repaired by the home-owner without specialist equipment with repair and maintenance which kits can be obtained from Worktops.net
