Very little, simple, preventive care is required to maintain Caesarstone’s everlasting beauty. Caesarstone is as close to everlasting as any worktop could come and only simple and routine care is required to maintain its good looks. Common-sense prevention and avoiding excessive or prolonged exposure to physical misuse, heat, chemicals, cutting, scratching or abrasions, will keep your quartz worktops looking like new for generations.
For daily care, simply clean Caesarstone with warm water and a mild detergent or quality “spray and wipe” type cleaner.

Knocks, cuts, abrasions

Caesarstone quartz worktops are the hardest and most damage- and stain- resistant worktops available. Not only is it highly resistant to scratches, stains, knocks and heat, it does not flake or delaminate, with absolutely nowhere for bacteria to accumulate as it is seamlessly joined and impervious to all liquids.

Nevertheless, one should bear in mind that no worktop is totally indestructible and even Caesarstone can be marked by careless or deliberate hard knocks, cuts and abrasions, etc and like almost any other material, prolonged exposure to harsh direct sun or heat can cause fading or harm to the resin, especially to the darker and brighter colours.

Because Caesarstone is incredibly hard and shiny, DIY repairs are not recommended and in the unlikely event of damage, professional repairs will be quite costly. However, with proper care, you can keep your Caesarstone worktops in pristine condition and that opulent look might well survive everything else in most homes.

Heat tolerance

Caesarstone is more heat resistant than other stone surfaces including most granite, marble and limestone worktops.

It is not affected at all by temperatures lower than 150°C, but like any stone material, Caesarstone can be damaged by rapid temperature changes, or prolonged exposure to open flames, high heat or direct sunlight.

Simple preventive measures will include:

  • Do not place hot pots and pans directly placed on the surface.
  • Use hot pads or trivets to protect them from direct contact with high heat
  • Use chopping blocks or cutting boards to prevent scratches and knocks
  • Do not use paint removers, oven cleaners or strong chemicals to clean the worktops
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to heat sources or direct harsh sunlight

Stains

Caesarstone is completely impermeable, making it extremely resistant to stains and no liquid will penetrate the surface to cause deeper stains. Simple steps to avoid excessive exposure to abrasive or caustic spills, is enough to clean and maintain them properly. For extra-stubborn stains, a no-scratch pad is recommended along with the non-abrasive cleaner.

If material such as food, gum, glue, nail polish, or even dried paint adheres to the surface, causing a stain, soak it for a while to dissolve the particles if possible. If it cannot be dissolved, carefully scrape away excess material with a plastic putty knife and then use a damp cloth to remove any marks or residual dirt.  Then wash off any remaining stains with mild soap or non-abrasive household cleaner (a non-abrasive cleaner will not dull the surface shine) and rinse to remove residue.

Chemical resistance

In spite of its exceptional durability and hardness, it is possible that Caesarstone could be permanently damaged if exposed to strong chemicals and solvents that alter its physical properties. If your quartz worktops are accidentally exposed to any such materials, they should be neutralised and removed by rinsing them off with clean, warm water.

Caesarstone should not be cleaned with products that contain Trichlorethane or Methylene chloride, such as paint removers or strippers, or highly aggressive cleaning agents such as oven/grill cleaners and dishwasher polishing agents that have high alkaline/pH levels (pH 8.5 or higher).

Cleaning materials or other substances containing oils or powders may leave a filmy residue that dulls the shine and should be rinsed off thoroughly.

If water marks dull the surface, apply a limescale remover, or use a paste of bicarbonate of soda and spirit vinegar to soften the limescale and wash off with mild soap and water.

Daily cleaning and care

For daily care, clean your Caesarstone worktops with a soft, or microfibre cloth, using clean water and mild soap and wipe dry. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive cleaning sponges, excessive pressure or force to remove stains.

Because quartz has a natural glossy sheen, it will not need to be polished, provided it is kept clean and dry.
